Chicken Teriyaki
Japanese simple recipe of broiled chicken glazed with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and cooking sake. The simple yet addicting dish as it is packed with complex umami. Please try making it at least once!

Boneless Chicken Thigh
(About 250g/8oz)

Soy Sauce
(Using Dark Soy Sauce will enhance the color)

Mirin

tbsp
Cooking Sake

tbsp
Sugar
½
tbsp
Vegetable Oil
(For cooking)
Salt & Pepper
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients.
Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on the chicken thigh.
Combine mirin, soy sauce, sake, and sugar in a sauce plate.
Heat the frypan with oil on medium heat, cook the chicken skin side down for about 4 minutes.
Once the skin start to crisp, lower the heat, flip the chicken, close with a lid and cook again for 4 minutes.
Take off the lid, and remove excess oil with a paper towel.
Turn up the heat to medium, add the combined seasoning to the frypan.Don’t forget to flip the chicken so both sides will absorb the flavors.
Cook until the moisture is reduced.
Take the chicken off the heat, cut into pieces and serve.
