Genmaicha is a type of Japanese green tea where the tea leaves are combined with roasted brown rice to create a refreshing tea blend with a subtle umami flavor.
When brewing green tea, the right temperature can bring out the best taste of the tea leaves. Japanese teas are light in general, so usually, the tea doesn’t need to be brewed with boiling water. For hot genmaicha, the best temperature to brew is about 90°C to 95°C.
