Genmaicha has a long history and has been loved for so many years especially in Japan. Like most green tea, Genmaicha can be brewed however you want. It’s not rare to find all kinds of Genmaicha-based recipes today such as latte, desserts, or even savory dishes that use genmaicha powder in the broth.
Genmaicha is known for its full and slight umami taste. Compared to other types of green tea, genmaicha tastes less bitter because it is half tea leaves and half roasted brown rice. Combine that savory delight with the smooth and rich milk, and you got yourself a Genmaicha milk tea!
