Sencha Green Tea Mints Recipe

Sencha has always been one of my favorite green tea, but I like it the most when I add fresh mint leaves and lime to my tea. This is the perfect recipe to get creative with the usual sencha hot tea or sencha iced tea.

Sencha Green Tea Mints

The simple and refreshing Sencha Green Tea recipe steeped with fresh mint leaves and top with lime slices. Perfect for refreshments during hot summer or simply enjoy during your relax time!

  • Prepare the Ingredients
    Wash the 6 freshly picked mint leaves, set aside. Cut and slice some lime for the toppings later.
  • Boil the Water
    Heat 400ml (13.5 fl oz) of water on a pot or kettle and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat after boiling.
  • Add the mint leaves and let it sit for 30-60 seconds in hot water.
  • Steep the Sencha in Hot Water (80°C/176°F)
    Add 1 tablespoon (0.1 oz) of sencha green tea loose leaf when the water temperature reaches 80°C/176°F. Let it steep for 30-60 seconds.
  • Strain the Tea
    Prepare a filter, then strain the tea and mint leaves into teacups.
  • (Optional) Add Some Limes
    Add and squeeze the sliced lime for a more refreshing taste.

Notes

It is optional, but sencha with mints is very suitable to enjoy as an iced tea.
To make an iced tea, cool the tea at room temperature and add ice cubes. Sip the refreshing taste!
