Umeboshi, or Japanese pickled plum, has a classic taste: sour, salty, and tart. If you are unfamiliar with this food, you will wonder what to do with it.
Thankfully, Umeboshi is very versatile to use in cooking. One of our favorites is to use it as a dipping sauce. You can use dashi, bonito flakes, soy sauce, sesame seed, or the one we’re using in this recipe—mayonnaise.
This article will explain how to make Umeboshi Dipping Sauce using Mayonnaise. The dipping sauce is perfect to enjoy with cold tofu, crackers, grilled chicken, to vegetable sticks. Because the flavor is mild, you can add it to salad or fried foods.
