About Amazake

Amazake is a traditional Japanese beverage, essentially made from fermenting rice that has been consumed by Japanese people since the Ancient Kofun period (300 to 538 AD).

Written as “甘酒” (甘 means “sweet” and 酒 means “sake”) in Japan, amazake can be literally translated to “sweet sake”. It is generally fermented by using Aspergillus Oryzae or can be called rice koji, which means this kind of amazake is alcohol-free and consumable by every age without any worries.

One glass jar of amazake contains vitamin B1, B2, B6, folic acid, dietary fiber, oligosaccharide, cysteine, arginine, and glutamine, which significantly promote healthy skin and solve digestive problems. It is also such an energy boost to your brain because almost 20% of amazake nutritional components are glucose.
