Curry is a well-known soul food across Japan, from Hokkaido up north to Osaka in the centre. It is an instinctively go-to weekend lunch idea for the family. Truth be told, curry is the perfect tenor to riff on in multiple ways without discounting the spicy sensation!
In this column, I’ll introduce ways to create furikake with curry and mushroom. It’s possibly the two most common ingredients lying the kitchen so no hurt trying them out all at once!
Curry-flavored Mushroom Spicy Furikake Recipe
This recipe can be altered endlessly. Feel free to substitute mushroom with other ingredients such as meat, seafood or vegetables.
Curry-flavored Mushroom Spicy Furikake Recipe
Ingredients
- 150 g Mushroom of choice
- 1 tsp Shoyu
- 1.5 tsp Curry Powder
- 1 tsp Rice Vinegar
Instructions
- Finely chop the mushroom of choice and combine all ingredients into pan.
- Stir fry the ingredients for a minute and then cover with lid for another two minutes.
- Remove lid and continue stirring until water reduces from the mushroom. It is ready to be served on warm rice!
