Adding fruits such as peach to your green tea, and enjoying it as iced tea doesn’t only give you health benefits, but also a really refreshing way to enjoy it, and helps you to cool down the summer.

Green tea itself is processed from the plant Camellia sinensis. To make green tea, the freshly harvested leaves are immediately steamed at high temperatures and dried. This steam allows the leaves to maintain their green color, which contains catechins with many health benefits, during the rolling and drying processes.

In this recipe, we would like to add a fruit ingredient into our green tea that can even give you more health benefits; Peach. Peach is well-known for its antioxidants and is rich in nutrients. Its nutrients are said to be great for your skin, and it is also good for your digestion system. This drink is refreshing that it is great to cool down your summer.

Ingredients
  

Tea

  • 1000 ml water
  • 2 teabags* green tea (Read notes)
  • fruit of peach

Simple Syrup

Instructions
 

Simple Syrup

  • Add water and honey to a small saucepan and heat over medium-low heat. Stirr constantly. Turn off the heat once the honey has dissolved and let it cool down.

Green Tea

  • Brings the water to boil
  • Add green teabags, and steep for 5 minutes.
  • Let the tea cool down to room temperature or place it into the refrigerator to chill.

Iced Peach Tea

  • Peel and slice peaches.
  • Place peach slices into a food processor or blender and blend until it becomes puree.
  • Pour peach puree through a strainer into a glass jug.
  • Add simple syrup and green tea. Then stirr it well
  • Refrigerate and chill for at least 1 hour. Or you can just serve it with ice cubes.

Notes

* You can adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or making it less. In this recipe, the comparison between honey and water for the simple syrup is 1:1
* If you use green tea powder, just dissolve 1 teaspoon of the powder for every 100 cc of boiled water.
